  • Laura V. Dubiel, a 35 year resident of Pasadena, died of cancer at home on October 1, 2008, while under the care of Hospice of the Chesapeake.
    Mrs. Dubiel was born on July 11, 1939 in Baltimore to the late Charles and Cristol Hall.  She resided in Severna Park and Glen Burnie before moving to Pasadena.
    She graduated from Annapolis High School in 1957.
    Mrs. Dubiel was an active member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.
    An avid cook and baker and she enjoyed entertaining her extended family.  Mrs. Dubiel was an enthusiastic power boater and water-skier, and learned to bare-foot ski at the age of 60.  A stalwart member of the Ross Cove Beach Association she acted as its Secretary for more than 15 years.
    She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles "Buck" Hall who was killed in World War II.
    Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Francis C. Dubiel, one son, Christopher Dubiel of Bel Camp, two daughters, Sandra Henley of Pasadena and Sharon Pollock of Edgewater, two sisters, Cristol Wagner of Essex, and Ida Lindner of Ferndale, and five grandchildren.
    Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Friday, October 3, 2008 at Stallings Funeral Home 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 4760 Mountain Rd., Pasadena.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake and Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.
