  • Lillian B. Pumphrey, 80, a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a sixty year resident of Glen Burnie died on October 3, 2008 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
    Mrs. Pumphrey was born on May 14, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Albert E. and Mary Dowling. She grew up in Brooklyn Park and graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1948.
    Mrs. Pumphrey was an analyst for the US Government for over 35 years retiring in the late 1990's.
    She enjoyed painting with oil and water colors.
    Mrs. Pumphrey is preceded in death by her husband of over 45 years, Felton Pumphrey and two brothers; Edward and Elwood Dowling.
    She is survived by her daughters; Barbara Sanders of Glen Burnie, Donna Sortino of Glen Burnie, and Lorie Pfannenstein of Columbia, two sisters: Delores Blankenship of Glen Burnie, and Mary Hoffman of Glen Burnie, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
    Friends may call on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, October 7, 2008 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, 2:00 PM, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  Interment Glen Haven Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
