  • Hubert M. Evans, Sr., 78, a 44 year resident of Pasadena and formerly of Baltimore died on January 16, 2014 at his residence.

    He was born on July 29, 1935 in Baltimore, MD to the late Hallam and Florence Evans.

    He served in the US Marines from 1957 to 1959.  Mr. Evans retired from the US Coast Guard Yard in 1989 with over 30 years of service.  For the last 24 years, until his illness, he worked for the Baltimore Orioles as an Event Staff Coordinator.  He was a member of the Glen Burnie Masonic Lodge #213, Concordia Chapter 1 Royal Arch and Tall Cedars in Annapolis, the Scottish Rite,  Past Patron of the Eastern Star Odenton Chapter, in the early 70’s he was active with Job’s Daughters Bethel #38 IOJD as well as being a Past Associate Guardian .  Mr. Evans also enjoyed bowling with the Early Risers at Bowl America.

    In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Hal Evans.

    Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of 58 years, Paula M. Evans, his daughter Susan C. James of Pasadena, his son Hubert “Butch” M. Evans, Jr. of Pasadena,  his brother Howell Evans of Glen Burnie, his grandchildren;  Mark Harris, Jr. and his wife Amanda, Matthew Harris, and Julie Hipp and her husband Nick, and his great grandchildren; Josiah & Damian Harris, and Jake & Dexter Hipp.

    Friends may call on Sunday and Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM.  Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/default.aspx?tsid=72&campaignSource=WEBSITE&source=ONLINE
