  • Harold “Bill” W. Netzer, 86, a 64 year resident of Pasadena died on February 4, 2014 at his residence.

    Mr. Netzer was born on May 8, 1927 in New York, NY to the late Edward and Sophia Netzer.  He served in the US Navy during WWII.  In 1954 he became Pastor of the Bible Church of Lake Shore for 47 years.  In the begining years, to supplement his income until the church could support a full time pastor and his young family he operated a machine practice called the Netzer Metal Craft Company from his basement.  In 1976 he opened the Lake Shore Christian Academy.  He also taught at the Baltimore School of the Bible for 42 years.  He was a speaker on WRBS Radio Good Friday for many years.  His hobbies included stamp collecting and he enjoyed painting in oils and pastels.

    Mr. Netzer is preceded in death by two brothers; Edward and Henry Netzer.

    He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley A. Netzer, three  sons; David A. Netzer of Pasadena, Daniel A. Netzer of FL, and H. Andrew Netzer of SC, his daughter Jennifer Sackmann of Pasadena, 17 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

    Friends may call from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Bible Church of Lake Shore 860 Swift Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:30  AM   Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church in his name.
