  •         Evelyn C. Hicks, 85, previously of Pasadena, died on July 14, 2014 at Morningside House of Friendship in Hanover.

    She was born in Morehead City, NC on November 6, 1928 to the late Guy V. and Neva Hoover.  Mrs. Hicks graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1946 and was married the same year to Arthur W. Hicks. After living in Baltimore for 2 years, she lived in Pasadena and retired in 1986 to Manteo, NC.  She returned to Maryland on the Eastern Shore, Odenton, and finally Hanover.  Mrs. Hicks worked as an Executive Secretary for Alcolac Chemical and PDM.  Her hobbies were gardening, crossword puzzles, camping, bowling, and ceramics.

    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hicks is preceded in death by her husband Arthur (Otts) W. Hicks and her sisters Doris Ambrose, Sybil Colston, and brother Richard Hoover.

    She is survived by her children Arthur (Otts) G. Hicks and wife Gini, Cynthia H. Klug and husband John, Neva J. Barbour and husband Lex, Mark A. Hicks and wife Becky, all of Pasadena, 9 grandchildren Audra Butler, John Klug, III, Brian Klug, Matthew Klug, Aldan Hicks, Jessica Hackmann, Nicole Barbour, Allyssa Schellhauss, Michael Barbour, and 10 great grandchildren TJ Butler, Johnny Klug IV, Rylee Schellhauss, Avery Hackmann, Alana Klug, Allura Hicks, Brooke Hackmann, Bowen Hicks, Chase Schellhauss and Paden Klug.

    Friends may call on Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A. where funeral services will be held on Thursday at Noon.  Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, Annapolis, MD.
