  • LANE, Clifford January 11, 1925 – August 3, 2014.  Born and raised in Bryson City, North Carolina, he moved with his family to Baltimore in 1959.  In early years, he managed a handicapped magazine-selling group that traveled the United States selling books to businesses.  He was always a salesman from Fuller Brush to flea markets and loved talking to people wherever he went.  A humble man with simple wants and needs, he always knew what was important in life – a love of Jesus and his family.  He hurt no one and helped when he could.  He was an avid Orioles fan, fisherman, and woodworker.  In addition to his family, he dearly loved his best friend and cousin, Charles Ray Ball, a minister from Bryson City;  "Miss Donna” and Gary Russell, his neighbors and dear friends and the couple that fixed his dinner every day and answered the phone when he called for help; “that female” Cathi Hughes, who made sure his house was clean; and Jack, a neighbor who took him to the Dollar Store.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ida Mae (Davis); his brothers and sisters, Helen Herrin, Virgil Lane, Jud Lane, and Shirley Hamby, and his grandson, David Lane.  He is survived by his children, Ron Lane (Cathi) of Pasadena; LaDonna Mooney (Wayne) of Pasadena; and Michael Lane (Donna) of Linthicum; his grandchildren, Michael Scott, Ron Lane, Jr., Shelby Presnell, and Brian Lane; and 10 great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:30 at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A.  Graveside services will be held at Meadowridge Memorial Park on Wednesday at 12:15 PM.
