  • Carl M. Benton Sr. "The Duke", 78, died July 11 at his residence. Carl was born August 19, 1936 in Baltimore to the late Edgar T. and Elizabeth Benton. He was raised in Baltimore and resided in Pasadena for the last 13 years.

    Mr. Benton was a police officer in the Baltimore Police Department for 27 years retiring in the mid 80's. He served in the US Army in Korea in the early 60's. He was a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Severna Park, FOP Lodge, and the American Legon Post in South Baltimore. His hobies included fishing, building model airplanes, and watching old John Wayne movies.

    He is survived by his wife of 55 years Madeline C. Benton, 2 sons Carl M. Benton Jr. of Westminster, and Ron D. Benton of Oklahoma City. 2 brothers Norman Benton of Baltimore and Bill Benton of Gettysburg, Pa., and a sister Lois Benton of Baltimore, preceded in death by 2 brothers Ed and Richard Benton. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren Luke and Kelly Benton, and 3 great grandchildren Luke Benton Jr., Isaiah and Anthony Taylor.

    Friends may call on Wednesday July 15 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home PA, 3111 Mountain Rd. Pasadena where funeral services will be held on Wednesday 8 PM. Interment private.
