  • Edwin "Sonny" J. Reinking, Sr., 72, a lifelong resident of Pasadena died on July 20, 2016 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

    He was born on February 1, 1944 in Pasadena, MD to the late George Reinking and Marie Reinking Fowler.

    Mr. Reinking had over 31 years of service as a firefighter for Anne Arundel County Fire Department.  He began his service at the Old Powhatan Beach Volunteer Fire department and retired in 1991 from the Riviera Beach station.  In the mid 1960's Sonny owned and operated a Texaco station in Glen Burnie and then S & S Auto on Solley Road.

    Mr. Reinking was a member of the Retired Fire Fighters Association, the Glenbrook Rifle Association and the NRA.

    He enjoyed camping, hunting and trips to the Coolspring Power Museum in PA and to the Tuckahoe Steam and  Gas Engine Association shows.  He loved animals especially his dogs Remi, Sadie Mae and Mama Goose.

    In addition to his parents Mr. Reinking is preceded in death by his step-brother Harry Fowler.

    He is  survived by is wife of 37 years, Suzette K. Reinking, his daughters Wendy Patterson and her husband Jim of FL, Stacy Moore of FL, and Shannon Reinking-Hurd and her husband Scott of FL, his son Edwin J. Reinking, Jr. of WV, his sister Joan Mauritzen and her husband Jim of Pasadena, his sister - in- law Susan King and her husband Joe, brother -in -law Bill Hartman, his nieces Linda Chadwell and Mandi King, his nephews Tim Mauritzen, Chris and Matt Chadwell and Cody King, his daughter-in-law Barbara Robinette and her late husband Walt, his grandchildren Ian, Collin and Sara Patterson, Devin Reinking, Payton and Madison Hurd, Zachary Scott, Andrew Robinette, and his great nephew Carter King.

    Friends may call on Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A..  Funeral services will be held at Lake Shore Baptist Church 4613 Mountain Road Pasadena, MD on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM.  Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations to American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, or American Heart Association.
