    John C. Horky, Jr., 89, died on January 19, 2009 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
    He was born on October 4, 1919 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late John C. Sr. and Anna Horky.
    Mr. Horky was a life long resident of Anne Arundel County and lived the last 68 years in Severna Park.
    He served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theater.  He was also a member of the Democratic Club on Jumpers Hole Rd.
    He worked for the Arundel Corp. in Pasadena and later for the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works until his retirement.
    Mr. Horky enjoyed fishing and boating and was known as "Captain Seaweed".
    He is survived by his wife Thelma E. Horky who he married on February 17, 1938, his sons John C. Horky, III of Pasadena, and Kenneth A. Horky of Bristol, his daughter Beverly A. Hudler of Pasadena, his sisters Frances Petrinko of Glen Burnie, Beatrice Bubbuka of Missouri, and Doris Fuller of Baltimore, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
    Friends may call on Thursday, January 22, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 9:30 AM.  Interment Glen Haven Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
