  • Clara R. Ernest, 87, a resident of Essex, MD, died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Season's Hospice. 

    Mrs. Ernest was born November 4, 1929 in Baltimore, MD to the late George and Josephine Adams. 

    Mrs. Ernest worked as a Teacher at St. Rita's School,  Our Lady of Hope and St. Lukes School from 1957-1971. She then worked as a principle clerk first at Baltimore City Hospital and then Johns Hopkins Bayview from 1971-1979. 

    Mrs. Ernest was a life member of the Wise Avenue Ladies Auxiliary in Dundalk. Her hobbies included crocheting, bowling, crosswords, bingo, reading, and writing. 

    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ernest is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John J. Ernest, JR., sons John J. Ernest III and Wayne D. Ernest. 

    She is survived by her son Lesley P. Ernest of Essex, brothers Albert J. Montagna of Kingsville, MD, Vincent F. Montagna of Phoenix, MD, sisters Toni Rathgeber of Bel Air, MD, Rosemary Startt of Parkville, MD, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 

    Friends may call Wednesday, December 7th from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM and Thursday, December 8th from 11 AM-1 PM at Stallings Funeral Home P.A., 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122

    Services will be held Thursday, December 8th at 1:00 PM at Stallings Funeral Home. Interment will be at Glen Haven Memorial Park. 

    Memorial contributions may be made to one of the following organizations, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 1704 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex, MD 21221. St. Lawrence Seminary, 301 Church Street, Mt.
