  • John Schmid III, 85, a resident of Baltimore County, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Well Spring Assisted Living in Millersville. 

    Mr. Schmid was born January 26, 1932 in Ellicott City, MD to the late Ruth and John Schmid. 

    He worked for Top Craft until the the mid 70's after 25 years of service. He then worked for Howard County until his retirement in 1994 after 20 years of service. He served honorably in the US Army from 1954-1956. He graduated from City College in 1951. He was a member of various car clubs and enjoyed working on cars, go carts and helping all his neighbors with building projects. 

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Schmid is preceded in death by his wife Marlene E. Schmid and daughter Janet Schmid.

    He is survived by his daughters Donna Myers and husband Frank of Pasadena, Valerie Smith and husband Joseph of Pasadena, sister Gloria Romona Brown of Pennsylvania, grandchildren Sheri Myers and companion Dave Daly, Eric Smith and Fiance Amanda, Lauren Smith, Kristine Schanken and husband Steve, Ashley Lotz and husband Joe and great grandchildren Jacob Schanken, Abby McClain, Maggie Schanken, Nick Daly, Justin Daly, Brooks Schanken and Joseph Lotz. 

    Friends may call Monday, March 20. from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122. 

    Services will be held Tuesday, March 21 at 11:00 am at Stallings Funeral Home. Interment will be held Wednesday, March 22 at 12:15 at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
