  • James W. Bowser, 85, a 52 year resident of Pasadena and formerly of North Carolina died on June 11, 2017 at his residence.

    He was born in Johnstown, PA on September 26, 1931.

    Mr. Bowser served honorably in the US Navy for 4 years active duty and 4 years in the reserves and was a veteran of the Korean War.

    He retired from Baltimore Gas and Electric in the early 1990's.

    Mr. Bowser was a member of Magothy Chelsea Lutheran Church, and the Elks of Severna Park.

    He enjoyed eating crabs and spending time with his grandchildren.

    In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers; Robert "Bob" Bowser, George Bowser, Tom Bowser, his sisters; Gertrude Mclaughin, Dorothy Bracken, and Helen Basset.

    Mr. Bowser is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Bowser, his son Michael Bowser, his daughters Debby Humphrey, Terrie Simmons and her husband John Simmons, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

    Friends may call on Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A.

    Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:00 PM at Magothy Chelsea Lutheran Church, 265 Beach Avenue, Pasadena, MD 21122.   Interment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122 or to the Magothy Chelsea Lutheran Church in Mr. Bowser's name.
