  • Born July 14, 1957 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.  Bette worked for BMU as a secretary and then as a teacher’s aide. She loved working in a K–12 school with children of all ages.  She became at Christian at the age of 7 at an evangelical meeting in Groton Baptist Church, where a ventriloquist preached. Bette joined the Groton Baptist Church and was baptized when she was 17. She taught junior high Sunday school and became an AWANA leader at the Groton Baptist Church.  Later she taught Sunday school to the very young 2’s/3’s when her nieces Sara and Stacy were attending.   She loved spending time with her mother, Barbara, and Sara and Stacy and spoke of the wonderful times they had together.

Bette loved nature… how it is awesome to see, hear and study and how it shows GOD’s wonders power, precision, and beauty. Bette loved her pets. Her parents had a farm with many animals and there Bette learned to care for, work with, and enjoy them. She mentioned that the Bible says GOD created the animals and he created men to care for his creation.

Bette married her loving husband John "Jack" Martin on October 21, 2014 and moved to Pasadena, Maryland to be with him. Shortly after in March 2015, her identical twin grand nephews, Griffin and Shepherd were born and Bette took great pleasure in spending time with Uncle Jack and the boys.

Bette is predeceased by her father, Lawrence A. Davidson of Barnet, Vermont in June 1983, her mother, Barbara Thompson Davidson of Barnet, Vermont in March 1998, and brother Stanley T. Davidson also of Barnet, Vermont in March 2008. All three were born-again Christians believing John 10:9-10  “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Bette’s life verse: Ephesians 2:8-9   “For by grace ye are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Memorial service will be held  October 21, 2017 2:00 pm at Groton Baptist Church.
