  • Dennis M. Rimel, Sr., 66, a lifelong resident of Pasadena, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in his home. 

    Mr. Rimel was born February 1, 1951 in Baltimore, MD to the late Ralph and Julia Rimel. He served honorably in the US Navy. He worked as a Diesel Mechanic for 40 plus years. His hobbies included collecting stamps, trains, cooking,  and maintaining his rock garden. His favorite holiday was Christmas, and he often enjoyed trips to his cabin in West Virginia. 

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Rimel is preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Terryl Rimel. 

    He is survived by his sons Dennis Rimel, Jr. and wife Kristina of Pasadena, Robert Thisell of MA, David Thisell, Jr. and wife Carmen of Spain, daughter Heather Jenkins and husband Kevin of Essex, MD, companion Linda Holtz, brothers Ralph "Russ" Rimel of Pasadena, Jay Rimel of San Antonio, TX, sister Cheryl Kauffman of Hampstead, MD, grandchildren Collin Rimel, Jacob Jenkins, Cody Rimel, Shaun Baker, Sara Thisell, Adam Thisell, Emily Thisell, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

    Friends may call Sunday, October 29th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where services will be held Monday, October 30th at 10:00 am. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park. 

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, South Atlantic Division, 8219 Town Center Drive, Baltimore, MD 21236 or to your local Veterans Affairs drop off.
