Details:
  • Edith Adele Schweitzer, beloved wife of 67 years to Robert Schweitzer, and cherished mother to Michael Schweitzer, the late David Schweitzer, and Jon Schweitzer and his wife Sandra, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018. In addition to her husband, sons, and daughter-in-law, she’ll be dearly missed by her six grandchildren and their families: Leslie Daugherty, her husband Mathew, and their children Andrew Billingsly, Michael Riche, Connor and Olivia Daugherty; Joseph Schweitzer, his wife Emily, and their daughter Amelia; Jennie Lynch, her husband Emmet, and their daughters Noelle and Caitriona; Will Schweitzer and his husband Kevin Burrowbridge; Evan Schweitzer and his girlfriend Deborah Miller; and, Jack Schweitzer, his wife Megan, and their children Jack and Nora.  Edith was 87.

Edith was born on September 8, 1930 in Leeland, Maryland. A devoted mother, Edith raised her family across the world during Robert’s Navy career, and settled in Severna Park, Maryland. She was a doting and proud grand- and great-grandmother, an avid gardener, and she enjoyed the company of her and Robert’s friends in numerous square dancing groups, the Notables singing group, and during weekly card games.

Edith’s family cannot express how much they will miss her warm generosity, sharp wit, excellent pies, and motherly hand.

Family will receive friends at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, 21122 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home that same evening at 8:00 PM.
