In retirement, her hobbies included gardening, art, ornithology, and genealogy. She was a devoted volunteer who shared her time and talents unstintingly with organizations including the Lower Delmarva Genealogical Society, Maryland Ornithological Society, Somerset County Historical Society, and the Nabb Research Center at Salisbury University.
