  • Dan Sumpter Keys Sr., DS, Pops, age 90, of Pasadena, MD passed away on September 20, 2018, from natural causes.

    The funeral service will be held at 11am on September 28,2018 at Stallings Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Schudde of St, Paul’s Lutheran Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 3-5p and 7-9p on September 27 at Stallings Funeral Home.

    Dan was born in Rosehill, VA, Shotgun Alley, on February 8, 1928. He was married to Jacqueline Share on November 15, 1952 and they were married for 65 years. Dan served in the Army and was a proud veteran.

    Dan worked as an A Inspector for the Air and Space Division for Westing House Company for 35 years. He enjoyed working on cars, coin collecting, looking for a good bargain at flea markets, fishing, sitting outside and enjoying the weather, being with his family, helping neighbors, an active lookout in his community, etc. He also volunteered in The Boy Scouts of America. 

    Dan is survived by his wife Jacqueline, his children Steven and John, his daughters in law Diane and Donna, his grandchildren Jennifer, Jessica, Nicolas, Lauren, Jimmy, Jason, and Kimberly, his great grandchildren Kylie, Jake, Jackson, Nicie, and Andrew, and his niece and nephew June Etta, Phil, and Mike and other family and friends.

    Dan is preceded in death by his parents Daniel Sumpter Keys and Binda Pace, his children Dan Jr, Hugo, Ricky, and James, his brothers Charles, Claude, Curtis, and Taldmage, his sisters Virginia and Evelyn, and his nephew Greg.

    In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St Paul’s Lutheran Church and School. The family of Dan Keys wishes to thank the Rivera Beach Fire Department, Police Department, and EMTs, especially L.T. Dave Peel (paramedic) and Officer Moore. God Bless.
