  • William P. Twigg, 90, a resident of Millersville, died on November 16, 2018 at Somerford Place in Annapolis, MD.

    Mr. Twigg was born on June 12, 1928 in Mount Savage, MD to the late Raymond and Amy Twigg.  He graduated from Beall High School in Frostburg, MD in 1946 and then attended Frostburg State College.  In 1950-1952, he served as an Army medical corpsman during the Korean War.  After returning from his time in the service, Mr. Twigg graduated from the University of Maryland in 1960 with a degree in Physics.  Upon graduation, he was employed by Westinghouse Aerospace as an engineer in the Standards Laboratory and retired from there after 36 years of service.  In his spare time, Mr. Twigg served as the Youth Fellowship Leader at Magothy United Methodist Church and Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

    In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Ernest Twigg, and sisters, Anita Slama and Rosalyn Campbell.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Calvert Twigg; sons, Paul Twigg and Aaron Twigg and his wife, Allison; and 3 grandchildren, Emma, Robert, and Heather Twigg.

    Friends may call on Friday, November 23 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD.  Services will be held on Saturday, November 24 at 1:00 pm at Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church, 921 Generals Hwy, Millersville, MD 21108.  Interment will be at the church cemetery immediately following the service.
