    James D. Bankowski, 81, a lifelong resident of Baltimore, MD, died on December 17th, 2018 at Future Care Chesapeake in Arnold, MD.


    Mr. Bankowski was born on February 14, 1937 to the late Stanislaus and Lillian Bankowski.  He served in the military during the Korean War and worked as a painter for various construction companies.  In his free time, James enjoyed cross word puzzles and cheering for the Baltimore Orioles.


    In addition to his parents, Mr. Bankowski is preceded in death by his son, Roy Emerson; his brothers, Ronald, Edward, and Andy Bankowski; and his sisters, Eleanor and Joan.  He is survived by the beloved mother of their children, Rosalie B. Emerson; his sons, James "Danny" Bankowski, Jr. of Linthicum and Rick Emerson of Pasadena; daughters, Stephanie Rainey (David) of Baltimore, Sandy Anderson (Patrick) of Pasadena, and April Ritchie (Dan) of Fort Myers, FL; 7 grandchildren, Jamie, Joshua, Amber, Ashley, Ciara, Demi, Christy, Tyler, and Kaili; and 9 great-grandchildren, Noah, Gaven, Kaden, Austin, Jamison, Luna, Nathan, Jacob, and Hailey.


    Friends may call on Sunday, December 23rd from 6:00-9:00 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where services will take place on Monday, December 24th at 9:30 am. Interment will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
