  • Charles E. Ernest, Sr., 79, a 22 year resident of Ridgely, MD and formerly of Pasadena died on May 5, 2009 at his residence.
    He was born on March 15, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late John Sr. and Mary Ernest
    Mr. Ernest served in the US Marines in the early 1950's during the Korean War.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post #40 in Glen Burnie, the Glen Burnie Moose, and the Pioneers with C&P Telephone.
    He worked for Western Electric in Baltimore retiring in the late 1980's with over 35 years of service.
    His hobbies included camping, woodworking, boating, and hunting.
    Mr. Ernest is survived by his wife of 32 years, M. Patricia Ernest, his sons Charles Ernest Jr. of Bangkok, Jerome Ernest of Centerville, Patrick Ernest of Glen Burnie, and Alvin Marshall of NC, his daughters Barbara Kraft of Ridgely, Melissa Baer of Pasadena, and Johnette Crum of Georgia, his brothers William Ernest of Virginia Beach, Gerald Ernest of Mt. Airy, Robert Ernest of Pasadena, Joe Ernest of Denton, Michael Ernest of Pasadena, and David Ernest of FL, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
    He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers John Ernest, Jr. and James Ernest.
    Friends may call on Friday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM that evening.  Interment private.
