  • Casper E. Hackmann, 86, a lifelong resident of Pasadena died on May 8, 2009 at his sons residence in Severna Park, MD.
    He was born on September 26, 1922 in Glen Burnie, Maryland to the late John L., Sr. and Amoliea Hackmann.
    Mr. Hackmann graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1939. 
    He was a member of the US Army during WWII.  Mr. Hackmann was also a member of Solley United Methodist Church where he served on many committees and the Solley Community Association.
    Mr. Hackmann worked as a pipe fitter for Continental Oil Company in Curtis Bay for 40 years until his retirement in 1982.  He also worked as a part-time repairman during the 1950's and 60's.
    Mr. Hackmann loved animals and was an avid Colts and Orioles fan.
    He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Carolee M. Hackmann, his parents John Sr. and Amoliea Hackmann, Sr., his brothers John, Jr., George, Edward, Frank, and Charles Hackmann, his sisters Mollie Solley and Elsie Mueller.
    He is survived by his sons Larry Hackmann of Georgia, Carl Hackmann of Severna Park, and Jay Hackmann of Pasadena, his daughter Frances Friel of Connecticut., 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
    Friends may call on Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA.  Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Interment private.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Solley United Methodist Church, 7600 Solley Rd., Glen Burnie, MD 21060 or Hospice of the Chesapeake 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
