  • Joseph C. Fisher, Sr., 84, a 57 year resident of Millersville and formerly of Brooklyn, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. 

    Mr. Fisher was born April 13, 1935 in Cresson, PA to the late James and Catherine Fisher. He served honorably in the US Navy for 6 years as an Aviation Electronic Technician where he achieved the title of Petty Officer 2nd Class. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 1959. He retired from Westinghouse (now Northrop Grumman) after 37 years of service as a Electronic Technician. He was a previous member of St. John's the Evangelist Church in Severna Park. He also was a member of the Mid-Atlantic Sports Fishing Association. Mr. Fisher's main passion was fishing. He was a man who just had to be out on the water. Other interests included wood working (especially duck carving), fly tying, watching golf, watching old westerns, especially those that featured John Wayne, and listening to old time country music. 

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Fisher is preceded in death by his son Joseph Charles Fisher, Jr., brother Donald Fisher and sister Regina Knott. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Carolyn Fisher, beloved father to daughter Dianna Fisher and son Kevin James Fisher, brother David Fisher, sister Genevieve Calandra, one grandson and many nieces and nephews. 

    Friends may call Friday, May 3rd from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where a service will begin at 8:00 pm. Interment is private. 

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
