  • Glenn E. Russell, 86, a resident of Glen Burnie for 60 years and formerly of Baltimore, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in his home. 

    Mr. Russell was born August 8, 1932 in Baltimore, MD to the late Gordon and Eloise Russell. He was a member of the Patapsco Pigeon Club in the Brooklyn/Baltimore area. Mr. Russell had a passion for raising and caring for pigeons. At one time, he had a large shed in the back that housed over 100 pigeons. He always loved birds and you could often find him bird watching or watching them on National Geographic. In addition to his love for birds, Mr. Russell enjoyed managing his son's baseball team. You often could find him carting the team around in his old hatchback while they enjoyed sodas and ice cream after the game. Above all, Mr. Russell enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a hard worker and a great provider. 

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Russell is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Edith Russell, and his siblings. He is survived by his sons Glenn Russell, Jr., John Allen Russell, Charles "Charlie" Russell, Bruce Russell and his wife, Neal Russell and his wife, daughter Terri Armstrong and her husband, 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. 

    Friends may call Thursday, May 23rd from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where a service will be held Friday, May 24th at 11:00 am. Interment at Glen Haven Cemetery immediately following the service.
