    II. Details

Robert Franklin Schweitzer, beloved husband of 67 years to the late Edith Schweitzer, and cherished father to sons Michael Schweitzer, the late David Schweitzer, and Jon Schweitzer and his wife Sandra, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2019. In addition to his sons, and daughter-in-law, he’ll be dearly missed by his six grandchildren and their families: Leslie Daugherty, her husband Mathew, and their children Andrew Billingsly, Michael Riche, Connor and Olivia Daugherty; Joseph Schweitzer, his wife Emily, and their daughter Amelia; Jennie Lynch and her daughters Noelle and Caitriona; Will Schweitzer and his husband Kevin Burrowbridge; Evan Schweitzer and his fiancé Deborah Miller; and, Jack Schweitzer, his wife Megan, and their children Jack, Nora and Caroline. Robert was 88.

Robert was born on October 7, 1930 in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.   A devoted husband and father, Robert raised his family traveling around the world during his 31 year Navy career, retiring as a Lieutenant and settling in Severna Park, Maryland. He was a proud father, grand- and great-grandfather, an avid gardener, amateur radio operator, and he enjoyed the company of friends in the Freemasons, numerous square dancing groups, the Notables singing group, and during weekly card games.

Robert’s family cannot express how much they will miss his warm generosity, fatherly steadfastness, sharp wit, and most excellent pickles.

Family will receive friends at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, 21122 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Thursday, August 29th. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home that same evening at 8:00 PM.
