  • Edward "Ed" Baldmer Rivera, age 64, of Pasadena passed away Thursday, November 14th.  Mr. Rivera and his wife served the community of Severna Park for over 20 years. They owned and operated Rivera's in Severna Park. Ed is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jeanne Rivera, his stepchildren, and their spouses, Tully David Fenner and his wife, Michele Lenz Fenner; Mindy Jeanne Tillman and her husband, Steven Edward Tillman; and Nathan Kenneth Fenner and his wife Nicole Boritz Fenner. Additionally, Ed, lovingly known as "Apa," was grandfather to eight grandchildren, Tristyn Lenz Fenner, Tully James Fenner, Teaghan William Fenner, Emma Jeanne Tillman, Sophia Ann Tillman, Preston Thomas Fenner, Kingston Kenneth Fenner, and Vivian Emily Jeanne Fenner. Ed is also survived by two sisters, Dora Abbot and Deanna Vela as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his mother Ofelia Alaniz and father Flavio Rivera; along with his three brothers Flavio Rivera, Richard Rivera, and Leo Rivera.

    Born January 24, 1955 in Mission, Texas, Ed lived for some time in San Antonio. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force and served for 4 years. He moved to Maryland in the late 1980's. In addition to being an amazing chef, Ed was also skilled at home improvement. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a fan of the Baltimore Ravens. Ed cared deeply for everyone he met. He was never seen without a huge smile on his face.

    A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 25th at 7:30 pm at Stallings Funeral Home located at 3111 Mountain Road in Pasadena. Visitation will be the same day from 3-5 and 7-9 for family, friends, and all those who were touched by Ed's life and talents. Interment will be private.
