  • Claude C. Dilks, Sr., 73, a 6 year resident of Seaford and a former 25 year resident of Pasadena died on February 16, 2010 at the Delaware Hospice.

    He was born on July 27, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late George C. and Daisy Boltz.

    Mr. Dilks retired in the early 2000's from Vermeer Sales & Services at Annapolis Junction after over 20 years of service.

    He was the driver of the 99 car “Red Rose Special” at the Dorsey Speedway in the early 1950's and continued racing until it closed. He won the Dorsey Track Championship in 1971 and 1973 in the late model class. Mr. Dilks also enjoyed fishing, Nascar, and boating.

    He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosalie M. Dilks, his daughters Katherine M. Boykin of Laurel, DE and Diane L. Danko of Pasadena, his brothers George Dilks of DE and William Dilks of Woodlawn, his sisters Doris Smoot of Howard County, Arlene Stanley of Pasadena, and Jean Barthel of Baltimore, and his grandchildren George Dilks of Seaford, DE, William Dilks of Pasadena, Kristine Boykin of Inverness, FL, Jessica Wurtzer of Pasadena, Justin Wurtzer of Pasadena, Cierra Dilks of Baltimore, Daniel Danko of Fallston, and Croix Danko of Pasadena.

    He is preceded in death by his son Claude C. Dilks, Jr. and his sister Helen Carneal.

    Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held on Monday at noon. Interment Glen Haven Cemetery.
