    Philip G. Martin, a 32 year resident of Anne Arundel County and a 52 year resident of Maryland, died on March 19, 2010 at his residence.

    Mr. Martin was born on January 6, 1933 on the family homestead in Sheridan County, Kansas to the late Philip A. and Fanny Martin.

    He was the Director of Data Processing Comptrollers Office, Assistant Comptroller State of Maryland for over 25 years retiring in 1995. After retiring he was a consultant for the Register of Wills for the State of Maryland for several years. Mr. Martin worked in the computer industry since 1958 and installed the 1st IBM 360 in private industry in the State of Maryland. The IBM 360 was the 1st large scale computer.

    Mr. Martin was a member of Galilee Lutheran Church. He served in the US Army from 1955 until 1958.

    His hobbies included fishing, golf, bowling, and photography.

    Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon Marudin Martin, his son Philip M. Martin of Chicago, IL, his brothers USAF Col. (Ret.) Matthias Martin of Tuscon, AZ, James Martin of Dodge City, KS, Marvin Martin of Denver, CO, and Merlin Martin of Mountain View, CA, his sister Leanna Wylie of Quinter, KS and numerous other close family members and friends.

    He is preceded in death by his brother, Roy Martin.

    Friends may call on Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held on Tuesday 11:30 AM. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville. Memorial contributions may be made to Galilee Lutheran Church Music Program, 4652 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122
