  • Michael E. Collins, 61, a resident of Pasadena for 34 years and formerly of Elkridge, died on September 9, 2010 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
    He was born on April 28, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Edward F. and Ethel Collins (nee Sirbaugh).
    Mr. Collins graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in 1967 and from the University of Dayton in 1971 where he started the Alpha Nu Omega Fraternity.
    He worked for various computer companies in sales.
    Mr. Collins was very active in the community and Our Lady of the Chesapeake Catholic Church where he was known as Uncle Mike.
    He was Past President and coach of many sports teams of the Mountain Road Optimist. He was also the Past President of the Chesapeake Boosters at Chesapeake High School where he spearheaded many fundraisers. Mr. Collins was also the team photographer for several of the Chesapeake teams. In the last year Mr. Collins helped coach the Anne Arundel Community College Softball team.
    He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jeannette M. Collins, his son Chris M. Collins & his wife Kim of Pasadena, his daughters Dawn Keys & her husband Trey of Catonsville, Jaime E. Collins & her fiancé Danny Gerbasi of Pasadena, and Amanda L. Collins of Pasadena, 2 grandchildren and his best friend Cole.
    Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of the Chesapeake Catholic Church on Monday at 10:00 AM. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Maryland Chapter 1850 York Road, Suite D Timonium, MD 21093.
