    Rosalea Streckfuss Della, 93, died on Ocdtober 19, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital after a short illness.

    Mrs. Della was born on January 31, 1917 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a lifelong resident of Pasadena until her move to the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville five years ago.

    She was a longtime member of Jenkins Memorial Church in Riviera Beach where she was an active member of church functions including teaching Sunday School.

    She worked for Baltimore Gas and Electric for 20 years and devoted her entire life to the service of others. In 1991 Mrs. Della was chosen as one of George W. Bush's 1000 “Point of Lights” recipients in recognition of her 1200 hours of volunteer and community service. Mrs. Della continued to volunteer in several capacities during her retirement years, including service at her church, visits to nursing homes and helping others in any way that she could. Even at the age of 93, she helped out at Charlestown doing what she enjoyed most -assisting others.

    She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Melvia R. Della,Sr. sister Catherine Gaff and brother Henry Ruppertsberger. She is survived by her son, Melvia Ray Della, Jr. and his wife Sharrie of Canadaigua, NY, her daughter Darlen Jones and her husband Ronald of Pasadena, her grandchildren Lindsay and Robyn Della of Louisville, KY ; Jaymi Della of Alexandria VA; Donna Snyder of Pasadena and Christie Raines of Baltimore, MD, three great grandchildren Camryn, Joshua and Jordyn.

    Friends may call on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM. Interment Glen Haven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. For online condolences please visit www.stallingsfh.com
