    Nancy Edith Calvert, 91, a Pasadena resident for over 60 years died on November 29, 2010 in Millersville, MD.

    She was born on January 20, 1919 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late Arthur and Elda Snyder.

    Mrs. Calvert was an operations manager for C&P Telephone Co. She retired in 1981 after over 30 years of service.

    She volunteered at the Magothy Health Center where she was a manager of the thrift shop during the 80's, 90's, and 2000's.

    She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church for over 30 years and prior to that Magothy United Methodist Church and she was active with the United Methodist Women at both churches. Mrs. Calvert was also a member of the Pioneers, Friends of the Hancock Resolution, and Meals on Wheels. She received the County Executive Citation for Volunteerism and the Paul Harris Award from the Rotary International.

    Mrs. Calvert's hobbies included collecting dolls, bingo, crafts, and baking.

    She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles H. Calvert, her daughter in law Barbara Lebrun and her husband Lee, her grandchildren Cindy Hare and her husband Mark of Manchester, MD, Wayne Plempel of Monkton, and Linda Cooper and her husband William of Bishopville, her devoted friend Suzanne Scott Eaton of Stevensville, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    She is preceded in death by her sons Charles Calvert and Alfred C. Plempel, Jr.

    Friends may call on Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM. Interment Meadowridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels.
