    Nellie Mary Malamphy of Pasadena, MD died peacefully at home on October 3, 2011.

    She was born Nellie Mary Angellatta on August 20, 1913 in Keyser WV to Italian immigrants from Del Reggio Bay, Italy that came to America through Ellis Island, NY. She was next to the youngest child of seven children and the last to leave this earth. She grew up in Cumberland, MD

    On November 20, 1941 she married Edward L. Malamphy, Sr. His employment with the Western Maryland Railroad brought them to Baltimore, MD. They eventually settled in Riviera Beach, MD and lived there for 44 years until she moved with her son and family at the age of 90.

    She retired from Giant Food Company in 1975. Her many memberships included Glen Burnie Moose Lodge, Severna Park Elks Lodge, Stoney Creek Democratic Club, Poplar Ridge Senior Club, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2462, Cumberland Historic Cemetery Organization and member of St. Jane Frances De Chantal Roman Catholic Church.

    She enjoyed traveling, bingo, 500 Rummy and spending time with family and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward L. Malamphy, Sr. and her grandson Kevin M. Malamphy.

    She is survived by her children Christina Taylor & husband Edward of LaVale, MD, Edward L. Malamphy, Jr. & wife Diane of Pasadena, MD and Rosemary Brown & husband Daniel of Seven Valleys, PA, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

    Friends and family will be received at Stallings Funeral Home, PA 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, October 5, 2011

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM at St. Jane Frances De Chantal Catholic Church 8491 Virginia Avenue, Riviera Beach with burial to following the Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
