    Rev. Pennell V. Jester, 89, a resident of Pasadena for 43 years and previously of Arbutus died on October 3, 2011 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

    He was born on January 31, 1922 in Stillpond, Kent County, Maryland to the late James A. and Lucille Jester.

     Rev. Jester graduated from Sykesville Senior High School in 1940. He served in the US Navy and was a WWII Veteran.

    Rev. Jester was a letter carrier in Catonsville for the US Postal Service from 1962 until 1985. He also served as a United Methodist Pastor at Mt. Carmel, Marley, Chesaco, Faith, and Solley United Methodist Churches from 1968 until the early 1990's.

    Rev. Jester was a member of Community United Methodist Church, King David David Lodge #68 where he was a past master, the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters, MD Commandry #1 & Concordia Chapter #3, and the Eastern Star Arundel Chapter.

    His hobbies included reading, fishing, crabbing, and taking car trips.

    He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Laura V. Jester, his sons Pennell J. Jester of Glen Burnie, Dennis B. Jester, Sr. of Pasadena, Neil W. Jester of Stevensville, and Otto F. Jester of Salisbury; his daughter Claudine M. J. Castro of Hampstead, MD; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

    Rev. Jester is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Kenneth P. Jester and James A. Jester; and his sisters Rachel Jester, Florence Diller, and Helen J. McCray.

    Friends may call on Sunday and Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM.
