    Harry W. Pierce, 82 a World War II veteran and a 3 year resident of Severna Park died on July 15, 2008 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

    Mr. Pierce was born in Winter Haven, Florida on April 22, 1926 to the late Ellis Wilmurth and Charlie Ruth Pierce.

    He graduated from Albany High School in Georgia and then from the University of Baltimore. He joined the US Navy in 1944 where he was a signalman during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946.

    Mr. Pierce worked for Durowal Hohmann and Barnard for 40 years retiring in 1993 as the Vice President of Sales.

    He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Lillian L. Pierce, his son Alan Pierce, his granddaughter Heather B. Pickeral and his parents.

    He is survived by 4 children; Glenn M. Pierce of Severna Park, G. Barry Pierce of Bowie, Kurt W. Pierce of Bowie, and Debra L. Pierce of Charles Town, WVA, his companion Edith L. Geldmacher of Severna Park, his brother Robert "Bobby" Pierce of Georgia and his sister Hilda J. Baker of Tucson, AZ. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

    Friends may call on Wednesday, July 23 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008. Interment will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
