    Steven D. Eckenrode, 58, of Pasadena and formerly of Brooklyn Park died suddenly on August 9, 2008 in Hancock, MD.

    Mr. Eckenrode was born on February 4, 1950 to the late James R. and Winifred Eckenrode.

    He joined the US Marines in 1969 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1971. He was employed for the last 30 years by the US Coast Guard in Curtis Bay as a welder.

    Mr. Eckenrode enjoyed playing guitar, composing music, Harley Davidson motorcycles, boating, fishing, artistic welding, taking care of his home, and spending time with his family and friends.

    He is survived by his wife of 3 years Karen Eckenrode, his step daughter Megan Valenzia Kulawiak of Camp Pendleton, CA, his brothers Kenneth Eckenrode of North East, MD and Gary Eckenrode of Glen Burnie, MD, his sister Joyce Kirby of Pasadena, MD, his grandchild, and several nephews and nieces.

    Friends may call on Thursday 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:30 AM. Interment will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD
