  • William T. Holtman, Sr., 75, a Koren War Veteran and a resident of Glen Burnie died on September 8, 2008 at Harbor Hospital.
    Mr. Holtman was born on December 10, 1932 in Ellicott City, Maryland to the late Bernard and Goldie Holtman.
    He lived in Pasadena from 1963 until 1987 when he moved to Glen Burnie.
    Mr. Holtman joined the US Army in 1953 were he served in the tank division until 1955.  After the service Mr. Holtman was a longshoreman in Baltimore until 1962.  He was the President of the Steel Workers Union while working for the Purex Corporation from 1962-1976 and he managed the Savon Service station from 1995 until his retirement in 1995.
    He owned the Crown Gas Station in Baltimore until the late 1950's and along with his wife owned the D&B Grocery Store in Magothy Beach from 1986-1995.
    In his free time Mr. Holtman enjoyed antiques, going to yard sales, traveling, history and politics.
    Mr. Holtman is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy F. Holtman, his daughter Karen L. Holtman of Glen Burnie, his sisters Betty Korb of  the Eastern Shore, Melanie Diller of Pennsylvania, his granddaughters Krysta Bowles, Leslie Cockrell, and his great granddaughter McKenna Bishop.
    He is preceded in death by his son William T. Holtman, Jr., his father Bernard Holtman, his mother Goldie Holtman, his brothers John Holtman, Bernard Holtman, Eugene Holtman, Walter Holtman, his sisters Joan Stickle, Delores Mahler, and Eileen Trout.
    Friends may call on Thursday and Friday 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM.  Interment is at Meadowridge Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Glen Burnie Health and Rehabilitation.
