  • Claude “Peter” S. Hatcher, 71, a resident of Pasadena for 17 years and formerly of Glen Burnie died on March 25, 2013 at his residence.

    He was born in Harlem, NY on November 16, 1941 to the late Claude and Eloise Hatcher.

    Mr. Hatcher served in the US Army from 1961 until the late 1970 and was a Vietnam War Veteran.  He was a member of the Glen Burnie VFW post.

    Mr. Hatcher worked as an electronic engineer for the US Coast Guard for 33 years, retiring in 2002.

    He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Valarie Y. Hatcher, his sons; Claude Hatcher, Jr.  and Stacey Hatcher both of Brooklyn, MD, his daughters; Alena Hatcher and her husband Greg of Pasadena, Vynette Johnson and her husband Steven of Liberty Heights, Selena Staley and her husband Keith of NY, Theresa Talley and her husband Edward of Liberty Heights, Claudia Hatcher of Brooklyn, Valarie Thomas of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Janetta Hoyte and her husband Rodell of Glen Burnie, his brother Gregory Hatcher of Wilmington, DE, 16 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

    Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday from 11:00 to 1:00 at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday.  Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
